The researchers believe that the industry should be classified as a problem for global environmental justice. The purpose of the committed young people in Turin is to increase awareness of Fast-Fashion and its impact on our environment. Among other things, they say that to make a shirt, 2,700 liters of water are consumed, the same amount as a person drinks in two and a half years.

Rörelsen för klädbytardagarna föddes i Greta Thunbergs fotspår. Klädtillverkning är en av de mest förorenande industrierna i vår värld. Och ungdomarna har reagerat på ”Fast-Fashion”.

Forskare från amerikanska Brown School säger: -Fast Fashion-industrin har lett till en ökad konsumtion av kläder, med en oproportionerlig miljömässig och social påverkan i hela leverantörskedjan som följd. Forskarna menar att industrin borde klassas som ett problem för global miljöorättvisa. Syftet som de engagerade ungdomarna i Turin har är att öka medvetenheten om Fast-Fashion och dess påverkan på vår miljö. De säger bland annat att det för att tillverka en skjorta går det åt 2 700 liter vatten, samma mängd som en människa dricker på två och ett halvt år.
